About ZoneV Photography

Hi, and welcome to ZoneV, my little photo blog. Well, it is not really a blog as it is not as interactive, but it is also not sole static. Me, that is Rüdiger Stobbe, available as ruediger at zonev dot de - always open for feedback. I hope you find some images here that you enjoy looking at.

The images on ZoneV

Some time ago I would have told you, that I am dedicated to a traditional photographic process. So, e.g. all the pinhole images you see on this site are traditional prints using different methods like normal printing, lith printing, kallitype etc.

But as time goes on, I am also open to digital capture. All the color images on this site are digital images from the beginning and I also started to produce digital black&white images - and more and more exclusively.

So no longer a dedication to a specific process, but more a dedication to image making - althoough I still like the traditional process, especially the kallitype process. It is a more tactile approach than digital printing.

Nothing to say here, I use cameras with and without lenses which are loaded with film in different formats or a sensor. No question, equipment is important, cameras are, lenses are, film types are, developers are, papers are, computers are, programs are - but only up to the point where the finished print lies in front of you. All the images shown here are kind of finished prints and also the digital captures are first on paper before they get a landing on this site, so no need to talk equipment here.

My other site

I once had a one year project of doing a print of a pinhole negative every week. How that went can be found here: Click!

What drives the site

Long story short: There was nothing available out there that I really liked - or at least I did not find it. I went through different wordpress themes, had a look at other offerings, also sharing sites like flickr. But I do not like how images are presented on all those photo sharing sites and so in the end I went ahead and started writing my own little set of scripts and were really lucky when a friend joined in and helped. His site is also driven by the same set of scripts: CBRockers As you can see, his site looks totally different, but still is served by the same set of scripts but using a different theme.

The font used on this site is called Raleway. It is provided by The League of Movable Type. The woff files for multiple weights can be obtained via Google Fonts.
